The Art and the Technique of Writing English Compositions
All compositions must have three parts: introduction, development and conclusion.（每篇文章必須含有三個部分，也就是引言、發展及結論）
Rule 1：Think about your composition theme-ask the questions WHY, WHEN, WHERE, WHO, WHAT, HOW.
﹙先思考文章主旨，可從WHY, WHEN, WHERE, WHO, WHAT, HOW等六個問題著手﹚
Rule 2：Make a plan of points.
﹙列出要點﹚
Rule 3：Write one paragraph for each point in your plan.
﹙每一個要點寫出一個段落﹚
Rule 4：Join up your sentences smoothly, by using linking words and phrases.
﹙適當的使用連接詞，可使語句連接順暢﹚
Rule 5：Check over your composition for mistakes in selling and grammar
﹙仔細檢查是否有拼字或文法的錯誤﹚
Rule 6：Use Paragraph Indentations.
﹙每一段落開始時，首行要縮排﹚
Rule 7：Use the correct tense of verbs.
﹙使用正確的動詞時態﹚
Words : and和, but但是, so所以, when當, because因為, after在…以後, before在…以前, since自從, although雖然, unless除非,until直到…
（以上為連接詞，連接兩個子句）
now現在, usually經常, sometimes有時, occasionally偶爾, first首先, next其次, then然後, later後來, finally最後, eventually終於, afterwards以後, however然而, furthermore此外, moreover此外, generally一般地, suddenly突然, fortunately幸運地,unfortunately不幸地….
（以上為副詞，常放句首，引導一個子句）
Phrases: first of all首先, at first起先, at the beginning一開始, later on後來, just then那時, at that moment那時, at the finish最後, in the end最後, after that之後, after a while過一會兒, to tell the truth老實說, frankly speaking坦白說, generally speaking一般而言, in general一般而言, in addition此外, what is more此外, on the whole大體上, on my way to…在前往…的路上, all of a sudden突然, all at once立刻, as far as I am concerned就我來說….
